• DuPage Training Academy in Carol Stream will host its 17th annual Winter Warm-up baseball and softball camp Jan. 12 to Feb. 23 at the academy, 115 Alexandra Way in Carol Stream.

The camp covers the fundamentals of throwing, hitting and fielding, and drills for high school/professional players. New this year is a travel level division for boys ages 10 to 13.

• DuPage Training Academy will host holiday camps in baseball and softball Jan. 2-4, with college players Kayla Kramer and Brittany Fairbairn instructing.

An infielders camp with Florida Marlins prospect Ryan Anetsberger will run Dec. 27-28, as well as a catchers camp on the same dates with Triple-A Marlins prospect Patrick Arlis.

• Benedictine University in Lisle will host a preseason baseball camp from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays in February in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

The clinic is conducted by Benedictine baseball coach John Ostrowski, as well as assistant coaches and varsity players.

The camp is open to youngsters ages 7 to 13. The fee is $40. For details call (630) 829-6140.

• Benedictine University in Lisle will host a softball clinic for girls ages 7 to 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

Players will receive individual instruction from Benedictine softball players in the areas of pitching, hitting, defense and base running.

Participants should bring a glove and wear gym shoes. Campers may bring a bat, but bats will be provided. The cost is $35. For details, call (630) 829-6140.

• Downers Grove North High School will host a winter pitching and catching baseball camp Feb. 2-3 in the Downers Grove North field house.

The session for students in fifth and sixth grades meets from 10 a.m. to noon, while seventh- and eighth-graders meet from 1 to 3 p.m.

• Winfield in Action will hold registration for youth baseball and softball in January at the Winfield Park District.

Signups will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 5; 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 15; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 19. A birth certificate is required for those not previously registered in WIA and for late registrants.

Umpires, volunteers, one board member and sponsors also are needed.

• The Bloomingdale Baseball and Softball Association will hold registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12 and 19 in the Kid's Square Clubhouse at Stratford Square Mall, the second floor just outside of Carson Pirie Scott.
