Montessori hosts open house
Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School will be hosting two open houses from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at 2020 E. Camp McDonald Road, Mount Prospect. These open houses will focus on the Parent-Toddler program. Parents can bring their children (ages 0-3) to experience a day in the classroom. The open house will include information on the Montessori philosophy of education as well as a brief tour of the school facility. Call (847) -297-4660.
Send video to loved one overseas
The First Division Museum at Cantigny is giving families and friends a chance to spread holiday cheer by sending specialized video greetings to loved ones in the armed services.
"Operation Holiday Cheer" will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 21-22 at the First Division Museum at Cantigny, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton. Participants can send a high-quality video-gram to their military family or friend. The video gram service is free to the public and participants must have the military personnel's e-mail address to send the grams. Indian dance show at Oakton college
The Desi Dance Club at Oakton Community College celebrates the music, dance, and fashion of modern Indian cinema in a live stage show, "Bollywood at Oakton," from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Students will impersonate their favorite Indian movie stars in high-energy performances of such popular Bollywood songs as "Ab To Forever," from the film, Ta Ra Ram Pam, and "Hare Ram Hare Krishna," from Bhool Bhuliya. The show's young "stars" also will be interviewed during segments of "Koffee with Krunal," a parody of a well-known Indian television talk show.
A portion of the proceeds benefits Apna Ghar, a domestic violence shelter serving Asian women and children. General admission tickets are $5. For reservations, call (847) 635-1900.
Wheeling presents holiday concert
Wheeling High School's Orchestras and Choirs will combine their talents in a festive holiday concert on at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school's Robert Sang Theatre. Madrigal Singers will perform pre-concert music in the lobby.
Seasonal music includes: "Sleigh Ride," "Believe" from Polar Express, and Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus,"

Prospect hosts 50-year celebration
Prospect High School cordially invites the community, alumni, and current and former staff members to an Open House at the school from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 20.
Activities include a formal rededication ceremony, a multimedia presentation, performances of musical ensembles and building tours featuring the new facilities. Yearbooks and memorabilia will be displayed.
