Red Hat Society

A new chapter of the Red Hat Society is forming in Buffalo Grove. Interested parties are ask to contact Myra at (847) 479-1940 for information.

North Shore Hadassah: The Buffalo Grove Chapter of North Shore Hadassah will hold a Chanukah party noon Monday at Congregation Beth Am, 225 N. McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove. Deli lunch served followed by a discussion of Jewish humor by Dr. Fischman. A funny feature film will follow. $20. (847) 259-5502.

Four Seasons Garden Club: The Four Season Garden Club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June. For information call Lenore at (847) 381-2883.

Buffalo Grove Writers Group: The Buffalo Grove Writers Group meets from 7-9 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 401 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. All interested writers are welcome. Contact Cindy at (847) 359-6337.

Lake Villa Township Lions: The Lake Villa Township Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m., on the first Tuesday of the month, from September through May at Saluto's restaurant, 7680 Grand Ave., Gurnee. Snowseekers Ski Club: Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited to attend the Snowseekers Ski Club meeting held at 7:30 p.m., on the second Tuesday of the month, September through April, at First Presbyterian Church, Maple and Douglas avenues in Libertyville. The club offers families, couples and singles trips to Midwestern and Western ski slopes and an annual "Learn to Ski" weekend, in addition to a variety of non-skiing social activities. Woodstock Squares: Woodstock Squares will hold square dance lessons at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday for 10 weeks at Whispering Hills Community Center, 4708 Jeffrey St., Johnsburg. Students dance with members of Woodstock Squares, led by a professional caller/teacher. Singles, couples and children age 8 and older with an adult are welcome. A 10-week session is $50 per person.

Poetic License Poetry Group: The Poetic License Poetry Group will meet from 7:30-9 p.m., on the last Wednesday of the month, at the Indian Trails Public Library, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling. For information, (847) 459-4100.

Compassionate Friends: Northern Lake County Illinois Compassionate Friends Chapter will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Millburn Church, corner of Grass Lake Road and Route 45, in Millburn. LakeShore Ski and Sports Club: LakeShore Ski and Sports Club will host the following trips:
