See polo Sundays in Oak Brook

The polo season runs Sundays through Sept. 9 at the Oak Brook Polo Grounds, 31st Street and Polo Drive. Matches are at 1 and 3 p.m. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10, $5 for seniors 65 and older and free for children ages 12 and younger. Parking is free. For details, visit www.chicagopolo.com.

Plum library offers drop-in knitting

Grandparents' Day to be held at library

Celebrate Grandparents' Day at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Addison Public Library, 2 Friendship Plaza.

Children may bring their grandparents or their parents to hear stories and play games. Participants who bring a picture of their grandparents will receive a surprise from the library staff.

Register now for family camp out

The Lombard Park District's family camp out will be Sept. 8-9 at Four Seasons Park, Finley Road and 16th Street, Lombard. Register by Wednesday.

The cost is $8 per person for residents and $10 for others, which includes a hot dog roast and breakfast. Families must bring their own tent, sleeping bags and other supplies.

Sign up now for 3-on-3 tourney

Villa Park Recreation will hold the first Oktoberfest 3-on-3 basketball tournament Sept. 8 at Lions Park, 320 E. Wildwood.

The cost is $19 per team, which includes a T-shirt. Registration is required.

Volunteers needed at Lincoln Marsh

Volunteers are needed for Lend-A-Hand Day from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10 at Lincoln Marsh Natural Area, Harrison and Pierce avenues, Wheaton.

Tasks include removal of exotic and invasive plants, trail maintenance, planting, seeding and trash removal.

All ages are welcome, but children ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
