Elgin company helps charity by wearing jeans

Dressing down at one Elgin company will help one local family move on up. Employees at Corporate American Family Credit Union raised nearly $7,000 for Habitat for Humanity this year by making donations for the privilege to wear jeans to work on select Fridays. More than 200 employees at the credit union participated in the fundraising effort. "Our credit union employees took it upon themselves to organize and participate in our 'Dress Down Fridays' fundraiser, and I'm proud of them," said the credit union's president & CEO Pete Paulson. "I like the fact that Habitat for Humanity is able to make a long-term impact on peoples' lives, both for those who help and those who are helped by the program."
