Car plows into crane in W. Chicago

Two people were injured Friday evening when their car crashed into the back of a mobile crane in West Chicago. A car traveling east on North Avenue plowed into the back end of a mobile crane working near a construction site on Atlantic Drive, police said. West Chicago firefighters had to cut the roof off the car to free the injured driver and passenger. Both people were taken by ambulance to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, but their injuries were not life-threatening, according to the West Chicago Fire District. The driver of the crane was not hurt.
