Briefs: Naperville seat-belt record
p class="News">Seat-belt use by Naperville motorists is at a record high of 91 percent, according to a semiannual survey conducted by the Naperville Police Department. The new figure is an improvement of more than 10 percent during the past three years. In 2006, the figure was 81 percent and in 2007 it rose to 84.7 percent. The department has increased public awareness of the lifesaving benefits of wearing a seat belt this year and plans to continue to aggressively seek out unrestrained motorists.
Alzheimer's stamp unveiled:
The Naperville Police Department's Elderly Services Team and Naperville post office are unveiling the latest social awareness stamp to honor those living with Alzheimer's disease. The public is invited to see and purchase the new stamp from 10 a.m. until noon Dec. 4 at the main post office, 1750 W. Ogden Ave. Information on services and programs for seniors also will be available at the post office at that time.
'To Kill a Mockingbird':
