Briefs: Ripe for the ordering

Today is the deadline to order citrus fruit from the Huntley Rotary Club. Purchase a case of navel oranges or pink grapefruit for $30 to share with family and friends, or order a half case for $20, or mixed half case for $25. A full case contains 40-44 oranges or 30-36 grapefruit. Orders must be picked up at Pinecrest Golf Club on Dec. 12. Better living through giving

In response to dwindling food supplies, County Line Chiropractic has become the only official drop point in Algonquin for the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills food pantry. The office is collecting nutritious nonperishable food donations in exchange for health enhancing services including massage. Top items for donation include dry cereal, mayonnaise or mayo substitute, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, tuna, boxed skillet dinners, canned meats, stews, chili, canned and dry pasta, crackers, canned fruit, canned soups, peanut butter and jelly, toilet paper, facial tissue, laundry detergent, dish soap and toothpaste. County Line Chiropractic is at 1493 Merchant Drive. Donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays or between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Fridays. Turkey raffle

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Firefighters Association will hold its annual turkey raffle 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at American Legion Post 1231, 1101 W. Algonquin Road, Lake in the Hills. There will be ham, turkey and meat raffles, as well as a silent auction. Free food will be available. Money raised will help support the Firefighters Memorial Project.
