Hyde's visit is part of the One Book, One Community initiative, which hopes to foster discussion and understanding among Huntley residents by encouraging them to read the same book. Pinecrest Golf and Country Club will host a dinner for Hyde at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are available for $20 at the Huntley Area Public Library. The public is invited to attend a free presentation with Hyde at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Cosman Cultural Center. Call (847) 669-5386 for more information.

Dundee Township park survey

The Dundee Township Park District seeks resident input on park services, facilities, and programs through a survey that's available either by mail or online. The data will be used to focus the park district's resources on areas that will have the greatest positive impact, Executive Director Tom Mammoser said. Select homes received a survey in the mail in late October. Other residents can complete the survey at www.stfrancis.edu/solutions or can pick up a copy at the Dundee Township Park District Recreation and Fitness Center, 665 Barrington Ave, Carpentersville, or at the district's administrative offices, 21 N. Washington St, Carpentersville. District residents can also request a mailed copy by calling (847) 428-1707. Surveys are available in English and Spanish.
