Northbrook Park District Presents 15th Liberty Loop and Liberty Lap Event

The Northbrook Park District is hosting the 15th annual Liberty Loop 5K Run/Walk and Liberty Lap 1 Mile Fun Run for kids on Saturday, July 1 at 7:30am at Techny Prairie Park & Fields, 1700 Techny Road. This tradition brings together the early risers of Northbrook for a fun, active way to celebrate with friends and family.

The scenic Liberty Loop Run/Walk is held on a certified 5K course through Techny Prairie Park and Fields and Meadowhill Park. Winners receive medals, and pre-registered participants receive a dry-fit T-shirt, a gift bag and post-race refreshments. Children 5 and under can run/walk the 5K event at no charge but need to be registered.

The one-mile modified Liberty Loop course known as the Liberty Lap welcomes junior joggers. The course winds along the Trail Through Time. Young runners receive a T-shirt and gift bag.

Online registration for both events is available at nbparks.org. Packet pickup will be held Thursday, June 29 from 1pm-6pm in the lobby at Techny Prairie Activity Center, 180 Abets Drive, or at the race start area on event day beginning at 6:45am, July 1. Race day registration is offered from 6:15-7:15am on Saturday, July 1 inside Techny Prairie Activity Center.

The presenting sponsor of this event is Northbrook Bank & Trust Company, NA, a Wintrust Community Bank, and this year's gold level sponsor is Jeremy Lew & Associates. Other 2023 race supporters include: American Legion Post 791, Barbara's Balloons, Big Apple Bagels, Dengeos, GoGo Squeez, Spartan FC Soccer and Sunset Foods.
