Free testing offered for private wells flooded by storm
If your private well casing was submerged in the recent heavy rains, McHenry County Department of Health cautions residents that those private water wells could be contaminated.
To reduce the risk of illness, water from flooded private water wells should not be consumed until tests confirm it is clear of coliform bacteria.
The McHenry County Department of Health will perform testing at no charge for flooded private water wells after flood waters have receded.
