Anvil Club golf outing: The Anvil Club's 2008 annual golf outing will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin. Proceeds will benefit the Ecker Center for Mental Health.
Registration is set for 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. tee off for the scramble. Cost is $155 per golfer and includes the use of the driving range, a golf cart and lunch.
The 19th Hole will open at the Anvil Club at 3:30 p.m. as drinks and hors d'oeuvres are served to the sounds of Elgin Attorney Loren Golden's Jazz Ensemble. The Anvil Club's signature steak and lobster dinner is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Cost of dinner-only is $65.
Exciting golf contests, plus three hole-in-one contests, are scheduled.

The Ecker Center for Mental Health has served the northern two-thirds or Kane County and Barrington and Hanover Townships for 52 years, providing outpatient and residential crisis, psychiatry, nursing, case management, vocational support, psychosocial rehabilitation and therapy to adults and a few children and adolescents.
August 11
Adult and Child Rehab Center: With the arrival of spring, plans for the Adult & Child Rehab Center's 20th annual golf outing and dinner auction are under way. The golf outing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11 at the McHenry County Club, 820 N. John St. in McHenry.
The day will begin with a chip-out contest at 10:30 a.m., and will end with an elegant dinner and a live auction conducted by a cappella group Ac. Rock. Other events include a reverse raffle with the chance to win $4,000, golf prizes, lunch, cocktails, a silent auction and more.
The 18-hole outing gives both businesses and individuals the chance to raise money for the Adult & Child Rehab Center, which provides therapy and nursing services to children and adults throughout McHenry County. The Rehab Center has been serving the residents of McHenry County since 1949.

Elgin Area Chamber: On Aug. 14, join the Elgin Area Chamber Invitational 1908 Scramble Golf outing. This networking event is a way to support the Elgin Area Chamber and have a fun at the same time. Celebrating its centennial, the chamber invites golfers to join them on the course with their knickers, argyles, neckties and wooden clubs. Join the fun and dress as the golfers did 100 years ago.
This year, the Elgin Area chamber golf outing will be at the city of Elgin-owned Highlands Golf Course. This 18-hole, par-71 course will challenge pro and amateur alike. After a round of golf, golfers will be dining in the new prairie-style clubhouse, The Hickory Stick. There is a choice of two shotgun rounds of golf at 7:30 a.m. or 1:15 p.m. Golfers can start out the day at 6:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast, golf, and then get to the office before coming back for dinner for only $125. Or golfers can start your day at the office and then join us for lunch, golf, and dinner for a $145 registration fee.
Numerous contests along the way will keep the golfers busy and holes-in-one opportunities for new cars will also be available.
After golf in the afternoon, golfers are welcome to join us for the social hour and dinner buffet. Those who would like to join us for dinner can do so with a $45 dinner reservation. The chamber is taking the phrase "letting that golf ball fly" to the extreme this year with a helicopter golf ball drop raffle. For a $25 raffle ticket, you have the chance to win $1,000 if your golf ball is the first in the cup or closest to the pin. The winner need not be present so everyone has a chance to win. In addition, Michael Franks also has partnered with Fellowship Housing Corporation to transform the lives of homeless or at-risk single mothers and their children. For more than 18 years, Fellowship Housing's mission has been to provide housing and holistic mentoring to guide single mothers from a crisis to long-term stability and independence.

Streamwood Chamber: Streamwood Chamber of Commerce's 22nd annual golf outing will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Rolling Knolls Country Club; 11 N. 260 Rohrssen Road, Elgin. (847) 888-2888
The event is hosted by Streamwood Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing along with American Family and Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago.
There will be numerous contests along the way to keep everyone busy as they play the 18-hole, executive course with narrow tree-lined fairways and water in play on 11 of the 18 holes.
After golf, guests will enjoy a 1-hour open bar, buffet style BBQ dinner, awards and live auction.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children-Chicago. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.
Children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment at no charge, regardless of financial need.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. The shotgun start is at noon in a scramble format. Open bar is from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and buffet is available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $130 per golfer and includes greens fee, cart, sack lunch, goodie bag, buffet and door prizes. Foursomes are $470. Register before July 28 and get the early bird pricing and save $10 per person
Hole and tee sponsorships are available starting at $100. Event sponsorships are available starting at $400.
Those who do not golf are welcome to attend the dinner for $45 per person.

Christ United Methodist Church: Christ United Methodist Church will sponsor its annual golf fundraiser on Sept. 12 at Whisper Creek Golf Club, Huntley. The shotgun start is at 8 a.m.

Frazier Memorial Golf Outing: The Central Rockets Athletic Booster Club will be sponsoring the sixth annual Staff Sgt. Jacob Frazier Memorial Golf Outing on Sept. 20 at the Hughes Creek Golf Club in Elburn. Frazier graduated from Central High School in Burlington in 1997 and gave his life in the service of our country in Afghanistan in 2003.
All proceeds will help support the SSgt. Jacob Frazier Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Central High School Athletic Booster Club and the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund. They are expecting a large turnout.

ACRC Women's Golf Outing: The Adult & Child Rehab Center's Annual Women's Golf Outing and Tea, appropriately named Tee to Tea, is taking place on Monday, September 29 at Chalet Hills in Cary.
The day will begin with nine holes of golf and end with a high tea. Other events will include a caddy auction, appetizers and drinks on the course, a silent auction, and much more.
The Adult & Child Rehab Center provides physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as home nursing care. We have been serving McHenry County since 1949.
