WW South (8-0, 6-0) at Naperville North (8-0, 6-0)

DuPage Valley Conference

Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.

Last year: WW South 42, Naperville North 41 (3 OTs).

Last week: WW South 40, Glenbard East 0; Naperville North 27, Wheaton North 7.

Outlook: Last year's epic, also in Week 9, was one of the best in DVC history. Matching it won't be easy, but hopes are high with a huge crowd expected. The Tigers sit on the verge of an unprecedented fourth straight conference title while riding a 27-game DVC winning streak. Naperville North hasn't lost since this game last year, a streak that includes winning the Class 8A state title. WW South's Kyle Blouin and Mack Tracey are set to return from injury to bolster the secondary. Center-kicker Nick Immekus should return as well. Joe Furco threw for 260 yards last week, but the Tigers also feature a solid ground game with Julian Banuelos and Mike Olp. Linebackers Pat Dansdill and James Eshleman and the Tigers defense must slow the Huskies' double wing headed by linemen Jake Baratz, Alex Helms and James Fissinger. Nick Mlady and Pat Waite form the potent running combo. Lineman Tim Weidenbacher, and his 8-plus sacks, anchors a formidable defense whose leading tackler is a sophomore in linebacker Nick Liftka.
