Dispose of those tattered flags

AmVets and American Legion is hosting a flag incineration ceremony according to the U.S. flag Code, at noon Saturday, June 14, Flag Day.The event will be held held at Veterans Park on Route 14 in Cary.

When the United States Flag "Old Glory" has flaunted its last star, flapped its last stripe, is frayed, torn or faded, it should be destroyed in a dignified, respectful way to dispose of our nations flag (preferably by burning).

The public is welcome to drop off retired flags and view the ceremony. Other drop off locations are at Algonquin Township, 3702 Route 14 Crystal Lake, and Fox River Grove Fire Station 2 at 400 Lucille Ave. across the street from Village Hall.
