Alex & The Allstars entertain in Cary
On Thursday, June 12, the Cary Park District Concert in the Park will feature Alex & The Allstars playing a variety of hits from the 70s until now. Alex & The Allstars engage their audience with talented musicianship combined with a party-time attitude.
The concert is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lions Park Rotary Bandshell
Get tips on starting a small business
On June 14, the Dundee Township Public Library will host Jorge Phillips, Illinois Small Business Development Center in Elgin, for a presentation on "Starting a Small Business in Illinois."
The program will begin at 2 p.m. at the West Dundee Public Safety Center II, 100 Carrington Ave., at the intersection of Rte. 72 and Sleepy Hollow Road).
Phillips will cover feasibility studies, business plans, legal considerations, types of loans that are available and provide information on where to obtain additional assistance at little or no charge.
Whether you are just thinking about starting your own business or have already taken the leap into entrepreneurship, plan on bringing your questions and ideas to this informative program, which is free and open to the public.

Free workshop set at Elgin Restore
On Saturday, June 14, Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley ReStore, Elgin will offer a free workshop on sinks and faucets: choosing and changing starting at 10 a.m. The workshop will be taught by AM 560 WIND Your House Chicago co-hosts Rich Cowgill and Dawn Tuskey.
ReStore also will be having a Father's Day Sale on the same day. Every dad will receive a 20 percent discount on the item of their choice. Also all sinks and faucets will be on sale that day.
