MCC student wins bronze award in national speech tournament

A first-year member of the McHenry County College speech team received a bronze award for dramatic interpretation at the national Phi Rho Pi tournament, hosted this year by the College of DuPage.

Dramatic interpretation was the second largest event at the competition.

A total of 500 students from 73 schools competed. Also representing MCC were Angela Edwards of Crystal Lake and Katie Klein of Woodstock.

The MCC Speech Team is accepting new members for the 2008-09 academic year. Scholarships are available for MCC students who participate in speech team. Those interested can contact Bonnie Gabel at (815) 455-8684 or at bgabel@mchenry.edu.
