Briefs: Jury orders Lisle to pay up
A DuPage County jury in a recent verdict ordered Lisle to pay $914,222.22 to a Lombard company it hired to construct a relief sanitary sewer. Tires 'N Tracks, of Lombard, sued the village in June 2003 alleging a breach of contract. Workers discovered heavy layers of underground rocks and boulders after beginning the work that were not revealed in contract documents. The company's lead attorney, James M. Dash, of the law firm Much Shelist in Chicago, claimed village officials approved the additional work but, after it was complete, refused to pay the extra costs or make the final payment. The jury awarded the nearly $1 million verdict April 29.
