St. Hubert Catholic School, 255 Flagstaff Lane, Hoffman Estates, continues registration for new students for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year for preschool, kindergarten, first- through sixth-grade elementary, and seventh- and eighth-grade junior high.

In an effort to seek common ground and greater understanding between neighbors of different faiths, a series of interfaith dialogues have been planned at three houses of worship.

Patterned after "Abraham Salons" suggested by author Bruce Feiler in his book, "Abraham," each community will jointly stage three different discussions focusing on each of the faiths. The presentations will emphasize the common heritage that began with Abraham, whose story inspires all three of the faiths.

Rabbi Max Weiss of Beth Tikvah Congregation, the Rev. Don Myrom of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and Dr. Khalid Sami of the Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs will each speak on their own faith at another's house of worship.

The second event will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Beth Tikvah Congregation, 300 Hillcrest Blvd., Hoffman Estates, with a presentation by Dr. Khalid Sami on Islam. The third event will take place at 5 p.m. April 12 at the Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs Mosque, 3950 Industrial Drive, Rolling Meadows, with a presentation by the Rev. Don Myrom.

Each meeting will start with a 20-minute presentation by the featured speaker on their faith, followed by comments from the two other faith leaders. There will also be time for questions from the audience. A short dessert fellowship will conclude each evening.

St. John the Evangelist Church will have a Texas Hold 'em Tournament at Kyle Hall, 513 Parkside Circle, Streamwood, at 6 p.m. April 19. The Divine Mercy of Jesus Devotion will be held at 2 p.m. March 30 at St. Ansgar Catholic Church, 2040 Laurel Ave., Hanover Park, and at 5 p.m. at St. Marcelline Catholic Church, 820 S. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg. There will be a procession, Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and benediction. Knights of Columbus from both parishes will provide Honor Guards. Women's programs

"Building a Spiritual Green Connection" is the topic of Church Women United's April Forum. Linda Sonner, coordinator of the Spiritual Green Connection, will be the speaker. Its mission is to support people of faith who wish to create a "Going Green" campaign in their faith communities. Questions and discussion will follow. Women at the Well, St. Marcelline's newest ministry for women, will meet at 7 p.m. April 11 in the Family Room. A light meal is planned for the evening, and a presentation titled "Women of the Bible," will be presented by Chrissy Zaker. The evening also includes prayer, a time for fellowship, and an opportunity to share your thoughts on faith, family, health and womanhood. A donation of $7 is requested.
