Lancer Preschool to begin Jan 22
Lancer Preschool meets from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, Jan. 22 to May 16 at Lake Park High School West Campus, 500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Roselle.
The preschool is designed for children ages 3 and 4 years old who are toilet trained. The cost is $150.

Program wants you to read with kids
Register by Sunday for the Books 'n' Bites Book Discussion Group, which is for children in third through sixth grades with a parent.
The program will meet at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at Roselle Public Library, 40 S. Park St., Roselle. The group focuses on a different children's fiction genre each meeting.
Historical fiction will be discussed Jan. 20. Parents and their child should choose a historical fiction title to read together, then come to the meeting to talk about the book.

Library to offer a reading program
A winter reading program for teens and adults, Perk Up and Read, has begun at Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale. The program runs through Feb. 15. For details, call (630) 924-2733.
Marionettes to tell a Scottish folk tale
Registration is open for a free marionette performance at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at Roselle Public Library, 40 S. Park St., Roselle.
Roberts Marionettes will present the Scottish folk tale "The Lass that Couldna Be Frightened." The performance is suggested for children in kindergarten and older. Adults must accompany children younger than 8 years old.

Bensenville begins 52 Books, 52 Weeks
The 52 Books, 52 Weeks program officially kicks off at Bensenville Community Public Library this month.
The yearlong reading program's goal is not to finish 52 books within a one-year time frame, but to make reading a part of your week every week.
