Lake County Astronomical Society: The Lake County Astronomical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. today at the Volo Bog State Natural Area visitor center in Ingleside. Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society: The Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society will meet 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Historical Society Museum, 411 Washington St., Ingleside. The Fox Lake Fire Department will be the special guest, as the historical society is studying the history of the fire department, founded in 1908. LakeShore Ski and Sports Club: LakeShore Ski and Sports Club will hold the following trips:

Beth Judea Sisterhood movie night: Beth Judea Sisterhood will present the movie "Night at the Museum" 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Beth Judea, Route 83 and Hilltop Road, Long Grove. Inverness Women's Club scholarships: The Women's Club of Inverness, as part of its annual charitable giving, sponsors several $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to graduating high school seniors, college students and returning students residing in District 211 and 221. Scholarship grants are based on financial need and strong academic achievement. Applications are available in the guidance offices of local high schools. Deadline for submission is March 14. Sundowners Golf League: The Sundowners Golf League is accepting new members. The club is for singles, solo golfers or couples and meets at the Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club, 40 Shoreline Road in Lake Barrington.
Sundowners will meet every other Friday starting April 18, with 3 p.m. tee times until 5 p.m. After nine holes of golf, members gather dinner and socialization.
