Lane closure in Elgin

Two southbound lanes on the southwest corner of Dundee Avenue and Ann Street in Elgin will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today through Thursday, Dec. 3, as city contractors work to repair sewer service. The two northbound lanes will allow two-way traffic to move through the area with all lanes reopening after 3 p.m. on all days. For details, call the Elgin Public Works Department at (847) 697-3160.

Eat noodles, help others

The student council at Clinton Elementary School in South Elgin will hold a fundraiser from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 at Noodles and Co., 895 S. Randall Road, South Elgin, in which the restaurant will donate 25 percent of proceeds so the school can use the money to help needy people. Vaccines still available

The McHenry County Department of Health still has open appointments for H1N1 vaccinations for its clinic from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin. Priority groups eligible to receive the H1N1 flu shot include pregnant women, caregivers of infants younger than 6 months, people 4 to 24 years old, those 25 to 64 with a chronic health condition, health care workers and first responders. Trojan team week in Cary

Cary Mayor Tom Kierna has proclaimed Nov. 28 to Dec. 4 as Cary-Grove High School Trojan Football Team Week, the town's way of recognizing the team's success in securing the Division 6A state title over the weekend. Kierna congratulates the team, Coach Bruce Kay and other staff, fans, team parents and everyone else who was a part of the win.
