Glen Ellyn clerk resigns:

Glen Ellyn Village Clerk and Collector Andrea Draths announced her resignation Tuesday. Her final day as collector will be Nov. 20 and she will leave her position as village clerk within the next 60 days. No reason was given in a news release announcing her decision, but Village President Mark Pfefferman said she cited family reasons. Draths has worked for the village for about 15 years.

Police tracking vandals:

Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for slashing the tires on six vehicles between 3 and 10 p.m. Oct. 31. Five of the vehicles were parked on Jefferson Avenue between River Road and downtown; the sixth was near downtown. Anyone with information is asked to call (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.

Addison patrol results:

Addison police conducted a special operation to arrest impaired drivers on Halloween. The results: three arrests for DUI; one arrest for driving without a valid license; one warrant arrest; six speeding citations; five citations for moving violations; four equipment violation citations; two citations for driving without insurance; one vehicle registration violation citation; one citation for failure to wear a seat belt; 12 written warnings; four vehicles impounded.

Hood tries again:

Aurora resident George Hood is at it again. The three-time Guinness world record holder in stationary bike riding will help Fox Valley United Way raise money to support youth programs as he takes aim at another world's record. He's already in training for his next ride, scheduled for April 11 to 24 at the Healthplex, 1900 Ogden Ave., Aurora. Hood set his personal best mark of 177 hours, 45 minutes in May 2008 in Naperville. He has since lost the record to Belgium's Shirvani Merhzad, who rode for 192 hours in January. Food for fines in West Chicago:

Have an overdue book at West Chicago Public Library? Now might be the time to return it. From Nov. 9 through Dec. 1, patrons can take advantage of the library's "Food for Fines" program by bringing in a nonperishable food item in payment for overdue fines. All donations will go to the DuPage Walk-In Ministry, a Northern Illinois Food Bank collection site in West Chicago. For details, call (630) 231-1552, ext. 2.

Lions hold Shop & Share:

Roselle Lions Club will hold a Shop & Share fundraiser Nov. 9, 10 and 11 at Jewel-Osco stores. During those days, 5 percent of purchases made with a Shop & Share identification slip, excluding tax, will be donated to the Lions. The club will use the money to help support Camp Lions of Illinois. To obtain an identification slip, visit rosellelionsclub.org.

Addison Trail play:

The Addison Trail Theatre Department opens its drama season with the comedy "Noises Off" at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in the high school auditorium, 213 N. Lombard Road, Addison. In addition, there will be a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for students, $2 for students with a school activity pass, and free for senior citizens with a District 88 Gold Card.
