District 300 joins Twitter:

Starting this year, parents will be able to keep track of the latest news in Community Unit District 300 on the district's new Twitter page. Twitter allows users to share short bursts of information and commentary with other users who subscribe to their updates. You can view the page at twitter.com/cusd300. To receive updates, sign up for an account at twitter.com and search for "cusd300." District 300's communications staff will update the Twitter page with messages from central office staff, principals and the District 300 Foundation.

Business group hosts dinner:

The McHenry County Economic Development Corp., a nonprofit group of county business leaders, will hold its annual dinner on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn, 800 S. Route 31. Mike Eesley, chief executive officer of Centegra Health System, is scheduled to speak. The group will also present the winners of the Business Champions awards. Campton GOP event:

The Campton Township Republican Party will have its 10th annual "Meet Your Elected Officials" event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Old Towne Pub and Eatery, 40W290 La Fox Road, Campton Hills.
