Friday's Fox Valley roundup

Huntley, shutout in the second quarter and down 32-18 at halftime, roared back behind junior Tyler Brunschon and beat Crystal Lake Central 66-56 in a Foix Valley Conference crossover Friday night.

Brunschon scored a game-high 29 points, including 19 in the second half. He had five 3-pointers as the Red Raiders remained undefeated at 4-0 for the season.

Mason Kaniewski and Justin Frederick added 10 points each for Huntley.

South Elgin 62, Lake Park 57: Tommy Childs scored 19 points and South Elgin broke out to an 18-5 first-quarter lead then hung on to down Lake Park in the Upstate Eight. Sam Sutter and Dillon Gardner added 9 points each for the Storm (4-1, 1-0).

Rockford Lutheran 60, Hampshire 59: Justin Bieber scored 21 points and Shyler Ralphs added 18 but Hampshire (2-2) suffered a tough nonconference loss to Rockford Lutheran.

Rockford Christian 45, Westminster Christian 38: Ben Caraini scored 12 points and Ryan Beachler added 10 for Westminster Christian in this Northeast Athletic Conference loss.

Men's basketball

College of the Ozarks 87, Judson 81: Within 2 points, 81-79, with under two minutes to go, Judson University could not find the bucket it needed as the Eagles fell to College of the Ozarks. Four Judson players were in double figures as Landon Skinner had 23 points and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the line. Judson shot 86 percent from the line but was outrebounded 36-30. Josh Weber had his first double-double of the year with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles.
