Northwest suburban National Merit semifinalists named
Dozens of academically gifted high school seniors from the Northwest suburbs have been named as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
They are among fewer than 1 percent of all seniors nationwide to receive the distinction, and did so by receiving among the state's highest scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test, taken last year as juniors.
