Donate garage sale items

Rover Rescue is looking for donations for its annual garage sale benefiting homeless dogs. The garage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 at 326 Sharon Lane, North Aurora. Items needed for the sale include household goods, tools, sports equipment, kitchen utensils, glassware, toys, baby furniture, baskets, holiday decorations, small appliances, paperbacks and clothing. Library open house

The new Sugar Grove Public Library and the Janice Katherine Rich Technology Learning Center will have an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at 125 S. Municipal Drive. Visitors will be able to take self-guided tours and meet the library board and staff.

Elburn plans craft fair

Crafters, farmers, flea marketeers, charity raffles and home-based business vendors are sought for the Aug. 21 to 23 craft show, flea market and sidewalk sale in downtown Elburn at Lions Park. For an application, call Cece at (630) 365-8987. The flea market and sidewalk sale are Aug. 21 and 22, and the craft sale is Aug. 22 and 23. The sales are sponsored by the Elburn Chamber of Commerce.

Hungarian-born artist Judith Laczo's oil and soft pastel renderings of her world travels are on exhibit through Aug. 3 at West Chicago Gallery 200, 200 Main St. Laczo was also recently chosen to be included in the "Best of the Best Exhibit" at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook in September. Gallery 200 is open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Foundation president named

Craig A. Hutchison has been selected as president of Central DuPage Health Foundation at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. The 57-year-old most recently was president and CEO of Perry Judd's, Inc., the seventh largest commercial printing company in the nation. Hutchison will lead the foundation's fundraising efforts of individual, corporate and planned gifts. He received his bachelor's degree in marketing from Indiana University.
