Dist. 300 looks for new leader

Community Unit District 300 has begun preparing for life without Ken Arndt. District 300's superintendent announced last year he will retire at the end of the 2010-11 school year. The District 300 school board has begun meeting with potential search firms, including the firm that brought Arndt and Chief Financial Officer Cheryl Crates to the district, according to board President Joe Stevens. "There has been no decision made on (using a search firm), just as there has been no decision on whether we're going to look internally or externally," Stevens said.
