District 158 to fix leaks:
Huntley Unit District 158 will pay almost $132,000 to Berglund Construction of Chicago to fix leaks at the district's Conley and Mackeben elementary schools. The work will be paid for out of a line item for the work and the district's repair budget. Berglund will complete the second phase of the repair work; one area of the schools remains to be fixed. District officials are hoping to fund the remaining work and recoup their costs for the repairs to date through mediation sessions with the contractors who built the schools. In a lawsuit filed last year, the district accuses the contractors of shoddy work that led to leaks at the Algonquin schools.
