Golf outing for charity:

The District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence is holding its first golf outing at noon Monday, June 22, at Turnberry Country Club in Lakewood. A dinner reception and awards ceremony will take place after the tournament. Proceeds benefit the foundation, which provides grants to assist educational programs in District 300. Memorial for Laube:

Fox River Grove officials have set July 11 as the day they will recognize former Village President Kay Laube, who died in office last summer at the age of 61. Officials are holding a memorial for Laube at 8:15 p.m., inside Picnic Memorial Park, where there is a bench, granite boulder and plaque and tree in her honor. Laube's husband, Ed, and their son Edmund are also expected to attend. For details, call the village at (847) 639-3170.
