LITH beach now open for the season

Indian Trail Beach, 228 Indian Trail, Lake in the Hills, officially opened for the summer season May 30. Grab your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen and spend the afternoon splashing in the waters of Woods Creek Lake. There are paddle boats and kayaks available for rent.

Don't forget to register for the swim lesson program. Lessons are available for infants, toddlers and youth of all ages. For specific swim program information, visit www.lith.org. Registration for all programs takes place at the village hall, 600 Harvest Gate, or call (847) 960-7460.

East Dundee hosts Lunch in the Park

The village of East Dundee will host the Lunch in the Park Concert Series from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, June 3, July 1 and Aug. 5, at The Depot, 319 N. River St. These events are free. Lunch will be for sale in The Depot and provided by CIAO's Pizzeria, 310 N. River St., East Dundee. There also will be a free raffle, prizes and desserts. Trinity UMC to host annual sale

Trinity United Methodist Church, 1647 Ravine Lane in Carpentersville, will have its "Huge Rummage Sale" from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 5, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6. There are things for the house, yard, and everyone in the family. There will be a silent auction and a $3 bag sale Saturday.

Money raised by the auction goes to global and local missions. If anyone wishes to donate items for the sale, contributions can be dropped off at the church between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, June 1, to Thursday, June 4. They cannot accept computer equipment, large appliances (stoves, refrigerators, etc.), large exercise equipment or large furniture.

If you have something large, however, you can take a photo and they will post the photo for you. For details, call (847) 428-1627.

Real estate class offered at MCC

Get started on a new career this summer with a real estate class offered by McHenry County College Professional Education Department.

This eight-week class will meet from 6 to 8:50 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, June 8 to July 30, at the McHenry County Association of Realtor's Office, 405 E. Congress Parkway, Suite A, Crystal Lake.

Anyone interested in becoming a real estate agent is required to take Real Estate Fundamentals in order to practice. Cost of the class is $295, which includes the textbook.

Elgin museum hosts Bubblefest Saturday

The Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., is hosting a Bubblefest from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Make a bubble blower, take home a bubble recipe, stand in a bubble, shake hands in a bubble and make your own bubble art. The fee is $2.

Museum staff will guide you in fun bubble activities. Learn how to make some of your own bubbles for home fun.
