Blood-Orange Mojito
10 fresh mint leaves
Juice of 1 lime
1 heaping tablespoon granulated sugar
Juice of 1 blood orange
2 ounces light rum
Ice cubes
3 ounces club soda
In a tall, slender glass, combine the mint leaves, lime juice and sugar. Use a pestle or muddler to muddle (crush) the leaves, pressing on and twisting them about 10 times.
Add the blood orange juice and rum. Swirl ingredients in bottle of glass until lightly mixed. Add ice nearly to the top of the glass. With a long spoon, dredge up the mixture until evenly mixed through the ice. Top off with club soda.
Serves one.
