Abbott

• On Friday, the end of the year dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. for all students in the Abbott Middle School gym, 949 Van St., Elgin.

Ellis

• On Wednesday and Thursday, students in seventh grade will present their Science Fair from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Ellis Middle School gym, 225 S. Liberty St., Elgin.

Kimball

• On Wednesday at 7 p.m., a Band Concert will be performed at Kimball Middle School, 451 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin. Band students in fourth to sixth grades from the feeder schools (Century Oaks, Creekside, Highland, Hillcrest, Sheridan) will also participate with the Kimball Band. Student admission is $1, adults are $2 and senior citizens get in free.

Tefft

• On Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the end of the year dance will be held for eighth-grade students in the Tefft Middle School gym, 1100 Shirley Ave., Streamwood. Admission is free.

Bartlett

• On Friday, Bartlett Elementary School's monthly Birthday Bash Day will give children with May birthdays the opportunity to choose a birthday book donated by the PTB (parent/teacher group) and a local merchant.

Garfield

• On Friday, NBC meteorologist Ginger Zee will visit the elementary school at 9 a.m. to discuss weather with second- and third-grade students.

Otter Creek

• On Wednesday, kindergarten students will present their Spring Sing at 6:30 p.m. at Otter Creek Elementary School, 2701 Hopps Road in Elgin.

• On Friday, students in the fourth grade will present their State Fair at 1:15 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
