Law school scholarships

The Kane County Bar Association seeks applicants for its annual scholarship program for area law students. In years past, the association has awarded at least two $1,000 scholarships to students who either reside in Kane County themselves or whose parents live in Kane County. Park named for Tomaso

The Huntley Park District will honor the late Huntley Village Manager Carl Tomaso by naming a park in his honor. Carl Tomaso Sports Park will be at Ackman Road and Founders Field Boulevard in the Talamore subdivision in northwest Huntley. The park district will dedicate the 38-acre park, which includes baseball diamonds and fields, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. Call (847) 669-3180 ext. 350 for more information.

Da Vinci Academy looks for annual auction help:

The Da Vinci Academy will hold its annual benefit auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at The Q Center, 1405 N. Fifth Avenue, in St. Charles. Local businesses are invited to donate items, purchase sponsorship benefit packages and advertise in the auction catalog. Tickets are $75 and attendees enjoy a gourmet meal, raffle drawings and live and silent auctions. This year's top-level raffle items are an iMac desktop computer and a 47-inch LCD TV with a Blu-ray player.
