Fox River Grove Lioness Scholarship
The Fox River Grove Lioness organization is offering two scholarships to graduating high school seniors living in Cary or Fox River Grove. Applications can be obtained at the Fox River Grove Village Hall and the Fox River Grove Memorial Library. Cary-Grove High School students can apply through the guidance department and partake in the scholarship nights next week at Cary-Grove. Non Cary-Grove students can pick up an application and the organization will interview them at a later date. The Kay Laube Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who displays leadership,a spirit of volunteerism and contributions to the community through involvement in government. The Lioness scholarship is awarded to a student who participates in volunteer activities and represents the community spirit. Both scholarships are for $750. St. Charles college fair tonight
St. Charles East High School will host the annual ICE Fox Valley College Fair from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight in the main gymnasium, 1020 Dunham Road. Students from South Elgin who attend St. Charles North are welcome to attend. There will be representatives from 180 colleges and universities on hand with information for students and their parents. The fair is also an opportunity for sophomores and juniors to ask questions about admissions, financial aid and programs offered by the schools. For details, call (630) 584-1100.
Tax Day rally
The Conservative Catholic Women's League - Kane County is sponsoring the Kane County Taxpayer Tea Party from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Kane County Government Center plaza, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva. State Sen. Chris Lauzen, an Aurora Republican, and state Rep. Timothy Schmitz, a Batavia Republican, are scheduled to speak.
