Jackson, Lahrman drive Wauconda

Wauconda's baseball team swung the bats aggressively Thursday.

The result was an 11-1 win over visiting Marengo, as the Bulldogs improved to 3-0.

Wauconda got 2 doubles apiece from Bryce Lahrman and Jeff Jackson, and had 13 hits total.

Jackson went 4-for-4, while Lahrman was 3-for-4. John Motley had a 2-for-4 effort, and Nick Jay picked up the win.

Bevelyn (Colo.) 3, Grayslake Central 2: In Orlando, Fla., Bevelyn scored solo runs (both unearned) in the sixth and seventh innings to hand the Rams their first loss of the season.

Mike Gentile had 1 of Grayslake Central's 2 hits with a first-inning double that scored a pair of runs. Rams starting pitcher Kevin DeRue allowed 1 run over 5 innings and got a no-decision.

Grayslake Central (5-1) plays Bullit East (Ky.) on Friday.
