Hampshire High stages 'Aida'

Hampshire High School's cast for "Aida" will take center stage in a new auditorium this Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15.

The play tells a love story about two innocent youths who are sent back in time into the land of ancient Egypt. It is a tale of forbidden love that will keep you intrigued with its delightful music and plot line.

The cast began rehearsals after returning from winter break.

"We have been rehearsing every day after school for the last six weeks," said director Christopher Cherry.

The long hours of practice each day has built anticipation in the performers.

"We are all very excited for the performances and we hope the audience enjoys watching as much as we've enjoyed perfuming," Cherry said.

The audience, no matter one's age, is sure to be entertained from start to finish in this "powerful" play.

"The 'Aida' show has songs that will be stuck in your head even after you leave the performance, and the ending will make you smile," Cherry said.

This weekend, take a trip into the past, and witness the wonderful music "Aida" has to offer. For information on purchasing tickets, call (847) 792-3500.
