Route 12 resurfacing continues

Route 12 (Rand Road) is being resurfaced from Route 59 to south of Old Rand Road in Fox Lake, Volo, Lakemoor and Wauconda.

The Illinois Department of Transportation’s $16.9 million project includes resurfacing 6.5 miles of Route 12, building shoulders with rumble strips. Installing centerline and rumble strips on Route 176 from west of Ivanhoe Road to west of Hawley Street is part of the project that will require intermittent daytime lane closures and various overnight and weekend lane closures.

Work is expected to be completed in October. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction. Alternate routes are encouraged. Visit idot.illinois.gov/about for more information on projects.
