A Gurnee couple is blending their love of travel and different cuisines into a new venture in Libertyville. “World flavor” is the theme as Adrienne and Pradeep Paga prepare for the July 11 opening of The Tapastry in the former Harbor Kitchen & Tap space in the Adler Square strip center, 1762 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Lilly Pulitzer store, new restaurants on the horizon in downtown Naperville
Downtown Naperville will be seeing pink and green when a Lilly Pulitzer store opens in the Main Street Promenade. Lilly shift dresses, a summer staple worn by the likes of Jackie O, come in every kind of tropical and preppy print under the Palm Beach sun. The new boutique is slated to join a line of upscale shops at the edge of the downtown core.
Little Villa Pizza Co. brings old recipes back to Des Plaines
Little Villa’s pizza and pasta dishes have returned to Des Plaines after a two-year hiatus. The location has changed and the business plan is a little different, but the recipes are the same. The original Little Villa Restaurant, 660 N. Wolf Road, shuttered in 2023 after the death of founder Bob Mele Sr.
Barrington plan commission to hear redevelopment proposal for former PepsiCo site
Barrington’s plan commission will hold a hearing Tuesday on a proposal to redevelop the former PepsiCo site into a residential development with 88 custom single-family homes. Vintage Luxury Homes plans to develop the Claremont at 617 W. Main St. as a gated community with lot sizes ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 square feet. Most lots will be in the 10,000-to-15,000-square-foot range.
Kane County company scores millions from Tollway for Mile Long Bridge work
The Illinois Tollway has awarded two Kane County companies millions of dollars in construction and engineering contracts, part of a statewide capital improvement effort. Two contracts, exceeding $23 million, were awarded to Bodwé WBK Engineering of St. Charles and Illinois Constructors Co. of Elburn.
Homebuilder aims to buy DuPage Water Commission land for $14 million
A prolific homebuilder wants to buy a chunk of land near Naperville from the DuPage Water Commission. Pulte Home Co. would pay the agency $14 million for the heavily wooded property along 75th Street, about a mile west of Route 53. Earlier this year, the commission declared it surplus property.
