Naperville's Our Saviour's to host 'Thanks (for) Giving' blood drive Nov. 22
Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Naperville will host a "Thanks (for) Giving" community blood drive with Versiti on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
It will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church, 815 S. Washington St.
All those who attempt to donate during the drive will receive a $15 e-gift card. In addition, coupons for a "buy one, get one half-off" entree at Noodles & Company will be available while supplies last. The drive will take place in the church fellowship center. Participants also are invited to all or part of Our Saviour's noon Thanksgiving Eve service in the church's sanctuary.
Earlier this fall, Versiti Blood Center of Illinois issued an emergency appeal for blood donations, with the organization's blood inventory reaching its lowest point in more than a year. Nationwide, according to Versiti, someone needs a blood donation every 2 seconds, and one blood donor can save up to three lives. Versiti is the No. 1 supplier of blood products to Naperville's Edward Hospital, which is located next door to Our Saviour's Washington Street campus.
All donors whose previous whole-blood donation was before Sept. 27 are eligible to donate again on Nov. 22.
Appointments for the "Thanks (for) Giving" blood drive are encouraged, but walk-ins also are welcome. Sign up at versiti.org/IL, call (800) 7TO-GIVE, or stop by Our Saviour's in person between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22.
