Norris Gallery concert series presents EYSO Honors Chamber Music Ensembles

The Norris Cultural Arts Center's "Music & More in the Gallery" series continues on Sunday, Oct. 29, with a concert featuring the Hanson String Quartet and Earl Clemens Wind Quintet, two of the Honors Chamber Ensembles of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras.

The concert will be presented at 3 p.m. in the art gallery of the Norris Cultural Arts Center, where no seat is farther than 20 feet away from the performers.

Tickets are $15 or $5 for youth age 18 or younger. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

The members of the Hanson String Quartet are violinists Marilyn Gans of Batavia and Zack Green of Hampshire; violist Derek Hibben of Elburn; and cellist Matthew Brunson of St. Charles.

The Earl Clemens Wind Quintet features Violet Whelchel, flute, Naperville; Gail Creighton, oboe, Glen Ellyn; Abby Edwards, clarinet, Glen Ellyn; Lars Dudley, bassoon, Yorkville; and Emily Hart, horn, Yorkville.

The EYSO Honors Chamber Ensemble program offers unparalleled opportunities for advanced high school and college aged musicians to play chamber music at the highest level while working with some of the finest artist-educators and chamber music coaches in the nation.

As premier ensembles and ambassadors of EYSO and its Chamber Music Institute, the four Honors Chamber Ensembles (Maud Powell String Quartet, Hanson String Quartet, Sterling Brass Quintet, and Earl Clemens Wind Quintet) maintain active and high-profile performing schedules.
