Enjoy music for cello at Wheaton College concert Sept. 5

The Wheaton College Conservatory of Music presents a concert performed by faculty cellist Leonardo Garcia Altino on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

In this faculty concert, audience will have the opportunity to hear music written for the cello by cellists. Music to be performed includes compositions by Gaspar Cassadó, La Un-Yung, Alfredo Piatti, and Paul Tortelier.

This concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Armerding Center for Music and the Arts Recital Hall, 520 E. Kenilworth Ave. on Wheaton's campus. For ticket information, visit tickets.wheaton.edu.

The next "Faculty Concert" on Sept. 25 will feature Soh-Hyun Park Altino performing traditional Korean sanjo on the violin.

Made possible by the support of the 2023 Korean Studies Grant Program of the Academy of Korean Studies and the Faculty Global Research Award of the Wheaton College, Korean-born violinist, Soh-Hyun Park Altino, will embark on a U.S. tour to present her interpretation of the Long Sanjo of the traditional Korean sanjo on the violin. Her lecture-recital tour, which includes four major institutions with Korean studies program, begins with the world premiere at Wheaton College.
