Popular Outdoor Art Festival Returns for 12th Run

The 12th Mundelein Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10, at Kracklauer Park in Mundelein. Admire the unique blend of talented fine artists, music, food, and fun daily from 10 am to 5 pm. This juried show features works from 44 specially selected artists of beautiful paintings, photography, pottery, wood furnishings, jewelry, fiber, and other handmade items. Spend the day shopping, enjoying live music from local musicians, including Jeff Justman, Doug Blake, Old Enough to Know Better, Mary Lai, Prairie Sky, and Frank Bagot. Admission and parking are free, and tasty food is available for purchase.

Along with professional artists, the Mundelein Arts Festival includes a tent highlighting artwork by students from Mundelein High School and Carmel Catholic High School. With the help of Gold Sponsors, Mundelein McDonald's, Silver Sponsor, Mundelein Automotive, and Bronze Sponsors, Mundelein Community Bank and Taste of Paris, scholarship money will be awarded to students from each school. Scholarship recipients will be announced at 12:30 pm on Sunday.

The festival will also include a free craft tent for kids on Saturday and Sunday, where children can stop by to create a painted rock. Food vendors La Mera Mera (http://www.lamera-mera.com/ ) and The Sweet Goat (https://thesweetgoatllc.com/) will serve various food items for purchase, and local musicians will perform music over the weekend.

"The festival provides a unique opportunity to purchase original works of art directly from the artists. You'll have the opportunity to chat with the artists to learn the story behind the pieces and techniques used to create them," said Christa Lawrence, the festival's founder and Event Chair. "The show has grown in popularity over the last 12 festivals, and we expect attendance to be great."

The festival is held at Kracklauer Park in downtown Mundelein (100 N. Seymour Avenue). Most of the show is located on the pavement for easy access by visitors.

The Mundelein Arts Festival is presented by Mundelein Community Connection and Mundelein Park & Recreation District, and we would like to thank the many sponsors and volunteers that make the festival possible.
