Volunteers needed to help prepare St. Anne garden
Maryville and Northwest Community Hospital are joining the Rotary clubs of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and River Cities in their districtwide service day to help prepare the garden and spread mulch at Saint Anne Home on Saturday, July 29.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 800 N. Fernandez Ave., in Arlington Heights.
"The Rotary Clubs of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and River Cities look forward to working together with other community partners to welcome Saint Anne and the young women it will serve to our community," said Karen Baker, system director of Community Impact and Engagement at Northwest Community Healthcare.
Event organizers are requesting volunteers to bring their own gloves, rakes and shovels. For those who can, bringing your own wheelbarrow would be an immense help for spreading the mulch.
"We are very excited to launch the gardening project along with our partners and volunteers. We are grateful for the overwhelming response to help beautify the grounds for our children and the community," said Patricia Robles, Saint Anne Home program director.
"The children have shared that being out in nature always reminds them of home, and with this initiative, we plan on creating a little piece of 'home' for our youth."
The gardening project is open to the public. If you are interested in volunteering, register at https://bit.ly/3rDVg9D.
