Global, participatory art project now at Schaumburg Library

Schaumburg Township District Library is hosting the "Before I Die" exhibit at all three of its locations, now through Aug. 31.

Share your hopes and dreams through this global participatory art project, now on display at all three locations of the Schaumburg Township District Library. "Before I Die" encourages you to reflect on your mortality and consider the things that matter most, all in the form of giant chalkboards featuring this simple three-word prompt.

Artist Candy Chang started the "Before I Die" project in her neighborhood in New Orleans as a way to help her community grapple with mortality and meaning. The project has spread to more than 5,000 cities around the world in 78 countries and 35 languages.

See and participate in the "Before I Die" exhibit at all Schaumburg Township District Library locations, now through Aug. 31. The Central Library is at 130 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg. The Hanover Park Branch is at 1266 Irving Park Road, in Hanover Park. The Hoffman Estates Branch is at 1550 Hassel Road, in Hoffman Estates.
