Wheaton College to host June 19 lecture on C.S. Lewis' 'The Abolition of Man'

On Monday, June 19, the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College presents "Inside the Abolition of Man," a lecture by the Rev. Joel Heck.

One of C. S. Lewis's most important, yet most difficult to understand, books is "The Abolition of Man."

This presentation will place the book in context, describe its importance, provide an overview and summary of the book, explain why more people should read it, and offer a few tips on how to teach the book.

Dr. Joel Heck serves Redeemer Lutheran Church as Assisting Pastor, having taught Old and New Testament and the life and writings of C.S. Lewis for more than three decades at two Concordia Universities. He and his wife Cheryl reside in Austin, Texas. They have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Stop by the Wade Bookshop to pick up a copy of Joel Heck's most recent book, "No Ordinary People."

This free event, open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Marion E. Wade Center, Room 130 Bakke Auditorium, 351 E. Lincoln Ave. in Wheaton. Parking is located in the parking lot on the east side of Washington Street. For more information, contact Wade Center at (630) 752-5908 or wade@wheaton.edu.
