7s Discipleship groups host spring kickoff lunch

The next 7s Discipleship small groups at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church will host a spring kickoff lunch on Sunday, April 16. Participants will enjoy fellowship time and begin session one of the seven-week study.

It begins at noon in the church fellowship hall, 10805 Main St. in Huntley,

"These groups will strive to bring us closer to Jesus so that we can be what Luther called, 'little Christs' to each other," said Donna Kelly, director of connection ministries. "Our small groups bring people of faith together to hear a short scripture reading or message, watch a video, and then engage in discussion."

The Discipleship Groups, called "The 7s," are offered in seven-week blocks, three times a year. They include learning, fellowship, ministry, and care.

"I encourage participation in The 7s," said Rev. Mark Boster, pastor, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church. "This gives us the perfect opportunity to meet together and grow our relationships with Christ and each other."

People can sign up on the Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church website at www.bitly/SOTPspring237s.
