Heritage Oaks Golf Club Wins Two Awards from Golf Range Association of America

Heritage Oaks Golf Club was presented with the award for Top 50 Public Range in late January by the Golf Range Association of America. In addition, Golf Instruction Supervisor Michael Wenzel received recognition as a Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional. Awards were presented at the 2023 Golf Business Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The award is given to a public facility that introduces the game of golf to a variety of new players daily while retaining and inspiring their core golfers through player development programming, customer engagement and community outreach.

"It's a tremendous honor for our recently renovated range to be recognized as a Top 50 Public Range in the nation," said Director of Golf Greg Baron. "Providing an elite practice environment that is welcoming to golfers of all skill levels delivers expanded golf opportunities to the community."

As for Wenzel, this isn't the first award he's received as a golf professional. He has been named a Golf Digest Best in State, as well as the 2011 Illinois PGA Junior Golf Leader, 2014 U.S. Kids Master Teacher and 2019 Golf Digest Top 40 Under 40. Wenzel's talents are utilized as he provides lessons for approximately 375 adults and 850 youth players through 30 different clinics each year at Heritage Oaks and Anetsberger golf courses.

"Being named a Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional by the Golf Range Association of America is befitting of Michael's dedication to instruction and programming. Michael is successful in engaging and retaining youth golfers and adult beginners by making his programs fun while incorporating a structured format for improvement," said Baron.
