Learn from firsthand accounts of mental health conditions at Schaumburg Library

In partnership with the Township of Schaumburg Mental Health Committee and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Schaumburg Township Library presents, "In Our Own Voices: Firsthand Accounts of Mental Health Conditions," on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Challenge your attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions as you hear firsthand accounts from presenters who share openly about what it's like to have a mental health condition. This is an opportunity to hear honest perspectives on a highly misunderstood topic. There will be time to ask the presenters questions, allowing for a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and dispelling of stereotypes and misconceptions. This program will help you gain an understanding that people with mental health conditions have lives enriched by hopes, dreams and goals. You can also learn more about mental health and get involved with the mental health community at this program. Co-sponsored by Schaumburg Township District Library, the Township of Schaumburg Mental Health Committee and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
