The Wildbird Shack soars toward a new direction to become a retail Seed Boutique
On January 3, 2023, the Wildbird Shack (WBS) will transform into the Wildbird Shack Seed SILO, a seed boutique with twice-weekly pick up days, online ordering and, for a nominal fee, home delivery.
"This new seed boutique concept will provide customers with the same exceptional quality they expect of the WBS, but at a price point competitive with on-line retailers," said WBS owner Alyse Cohen Burman.
Although the WBS showroom will no longer be open, customers can shop in the online store and are encouraged to call and place their seed and bird food orders personally at (847) 873-0409. The Wildbird Shack Seed SILO will carry their exclusive Wildbird Chics Special Blend II with Peanuts, as well as Nyjer, peanuts in the shell and splits, Safflower, Nutrasaff, Cardinal Blend, Suet as well as selected bird feeders and a product of the month. Burman is optimistic that once this unique retail seed boutique concept takes flight, other products will be added to the limited selection. The twice-weekly WBS pick up days and times will be announced soon at www.wildbirdshack.com.
The WBS's additional bird and nature-related businesses will continue, including the popular Wildbird Shack SPEAKEASY, through which Burman presents educational bird programs on a variety of topics to garden clubs, schools, senior living communities, senior centers, libraries, park districts, women's clubs, scout groups and other adult educational groups. In 2023, the Wildbird Shack SPEAKEASY will offer new expert presenters on the topics of nature discoveries, apiary, wellness and mindfulness, travel logs, hands-on workshops and the do's and don'ts of social media. Programs are customized to the specific needs of each audience.
The WBS also continues to offer BIRDSCAPING, a method of transforming an ordinary yard into an awe-inspiring bed and breakfast for outdoor birds. WBS staff will find the perfect location to place your design, balancing providing birds with food, water, shelter strategically placed in optimal locations to attract the largest variety of birds to any yard.
"Our number one goal at the WildBird Shack remains to bring the joys of birding and nature to our friends and customers. We look forward to continuing our mission and providing our loyal customers with our exceptional products and programs," said Burman. "I appreciate the valued WBS customers and I hope that our many new and loyal friends will continue to stay in touch."
