Bring your items that need fixing to Schaumburg Library's Repair Café

Schaumburg Township District Library will host a Repair Café on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Repair Cafés are an international, community-led phenomenon empowering people to learn hands-on while keeping more items out of our landfills.

Bring your older small appliances, computers, clothing and other things that need mending to the Schaumburg Repair Café. Learn how to fix your item from volunteer experts and gain confidence in learning how to repair your household items. All ages are welcome to attend.

The library cannot guarantee that your item will be fixed and volunteers have the right to refuse to fix something. Please come with your item and stay with your item to learn how to fix it. Drop-offs cannot be accepted. Volunteers won't fix large appliances, large furniture or any items that cannot be easily transported into the library.

Are you handy with fixing small appliances or electronics? Do you have your pin cushion always at the ready to mend clothes? Put your skills to use as a Repair Café volunteer! Local volunteer experts are needed to help community members repair their household items. Contact Schaumburg Library's Adult Program Coordinator Matt Binder at mbinder@stdl.org or (847) 923-3394 to learn more or to volunteer.

Schaumburg Repair Café is on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Schaumburg Township District Library's Central Library.
